In this event, the vampiric General Thorn will lead his forces against Elsendor
in an attempt to wipe out everything as we know it. Being among the highest
ranks of ancient vampires, he is undefeatable by normal means.
Thorn usually brings along four of his most feared henchmen. These henchmen
can appear anywhere in the realms, even in platoons that are closed. The
scrying team at militia headquarters will attempt to divine their locations as
the raid goes on.
The militia has two ways to win. Either it defends Elsendor for the set amount
of time, or it finds a way to deal with Thorn once and for all. Defeating
Thorn will of course be rewarded much more highly, but this is more difficult.
Clerics have been mentioning an ancient prophecy which will come in handy in
these dark times of need, but which may spell doom for the militia as well,
since everything stands and falls with the chosen one.
Lately, Thorn has recovered parts of the infamous 'Tome of Despicable Evil'
which allows him to cast nefarious curses on the Elsendor defenders. These
curses may wreak havoc in unusual ways.
* There are no black materia.
* Thorn attacks Elsendor with small waves of monsters, each of which is
announced.
* Red alert will be called automatically when the raid begins, and green alert
will also be called automatically when it ends. If green alert is not
automatically called, the raid is not over.
* The CO/XO are free to issue orders; guarding chokes is not required if they
say to do other things instead. If they don't give orders regarding that,
chokes are to be manned as usual.
* The militia loses if a set amount of monsters breaks though. This number may
vary from event to event.
NOTE: Please do not try to hoard or save quest items from this event, because this
will be punished if abused. Should any items somehow survive the event, please
put them in the trashcan.
